Our Story
Defenders of Human Rights and Civic Education Group (DHR-CEG) was founded in 2025. The formation of the organization was inspired by its Founding Director, Mr. Vincent Endekwa Mahasi, who has actively participated in public interest litigation concerning violations of fundamental rights and freedoms as provided under the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
Together with a team of dedicated, passionate, and skilled individuals, the organization works to advance justice, civic education, and protection of human rights in society. DHR-CEG is committed to empowering citizens, strengthening democratic institutions, and promoting accountability in governance.
We are a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) committed to promoting human rights, civic awareness, good governance, and policy advocacy in Kenya. We empower communities with knowledge and tools to defend their rights while promoting responsible citizenship.

Leadership
Mr. Vincent Endekwa Mahasi is the Founding Director of DHR-CEG. He has actively participated in public interest litigation concerning violations of fundamental rights and freedoms as provided under the Constitution of Kenya (2010).
Driven by a deep commitment to justice and democratic governance, Mr. Mahasi brought together a team of dedicated professionals to establish DHR-CEG — an organization at the forefront of human rights advocacy, civic education, and policy reform in Kenya.
